2018 Tiru Reunion Coordinator Notes:
For 2018 the reunion will be held in Branson Missouri. This year’s gathering is being sponsored by Doug and Cora Sue Johnson. We will be staying at the Lodge of the Ozarks where we will have the arrival Dinner and the Banquet. There will be cruise on The Branson Showboat with lunch and a show. The memorial service will be held at the Branson Showboat. In addition, crew members can take advantage of an optional show offered close to the lodge as well as other shows in the area. Branson a small shopping district is close by, along with other activities in the surrounding area. For Reunion Details, Go to the USS Tiru Home Page at: ww.usstiru.org. President’s Notes:
Last year we had a great reunion in Fredericksburg Texas. Larry Standlee and Malida Allison sponsored the reunion. Our thanks to them for the hard work and planning that went into such a successful event. We Toured the Admiral Nimitz Museum and the National Museum of the Pacific War. We also were able to tour the childhood home of President Lyndon Johnson, followed by a wine tasting and lunch at a local vineyard. Both were interesting and fun venues.

This year’s Reunion looks to be a good time. Branson is new location for us and offers a variety of activities during unscheduled event times. As always the best part of the reunion is always seeing the crew and seeing how our sea stories evolve. I hope to see you in Branson.

FYI: I’m stepping in for Bill Fatek temporarily. Bill had a reaction to a medication he has been on and is recovering from the effects of that reaction. The family has asked that we do not contact them during this recovery period. We all wish Bill a speedy recovery. Thanks.
