2006 TIRU REUNION NEWS:

Time is getting short to register for Tiru’s fourth reunion. Please let the reunion committee know prior to 15 July that you plan on attending.

The 2006 TIRU Reunion will be held from the 17th to 20th of August 2006 in Silverdale (Bremerton) Washington (our first west coast reunion). The details are posted on the TIRU website, www.usstiru.org, in the 2006 Reunion section. Registrations continue at a record rate; we currently have 44 shipmates (plus 26 guests) registered to date. Reunion registration may be made on the website, by fax, by email, or by postal mail. If you do not have Internet access please call and we will fax or mail you the registration form, schedule of events, and hotel information.

USS TIRU SS416 NEWSLETTER NEWS:

We have been sending newsletter mailing by postal service to Shipmates for which we do not have an email address. If you know of any additions for this list, please send addresses to webmaster@usstiru.org or mail to Booth, Box 40, Sorrento, BC, V0E2W0, Canada.

The email version of the newsletter is purposely lacking graphics and links in hopes that it will not be considered emailspam by other mail programs.

Please let us know if you change your email address. If you received this newsletter by postal mail it means that we do not have a good email address for you.

USS TIRU SS416 WEBSITE NEWS: www.usstiru.org

The website continues to grow and we averaged 78 visits (1060 hits) per day for the month of May. The site is gradually being transitioned from a MS Publisher based site to a MS Front Page site. During this transition expect some errors to occur. With your help in auditing the site for bad links and errors we hope to keep the disruptions to a minimum. If any problems are noted please email to the webmaster. Thanks for those who have sent in suggestions and comments.

If you have registered and have not received a reply please try again or send email to webmaster. You should get an acknowledgement within one to three days if everything is working correctly. We continue to have problems with email to AOL members due to its emailspam control.

20 May 06: Representing the Tiru Association, Lou House presented a Painting of Tiru, Tiru Ball Cap and Tee Shirt to Admiral Bill Masters upon his retirement from the Navy. Admiral Masters was aboard Tiru as a CT2 for a Special Operation in 1962. (photos posted on website)
