Kimball L. Young

Senior Chief Engineman Kimball LaVar Young, USN (ret), 87, of Kane'ohe, Hawaii died on 30 September 2007 and was buried at the Hawai'i State Veterans Cemetery. Senior Chief Young was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He also retired from teaching in the public school system.

Chief Young served aboard the USS Tiru (SS416) as Chief Engineman from 26 April 1956 to 7 December 1956. He also served on various submarines including  the USS Gudgeon (SS567) having qualified on the USS Guardfish (SS217) in 1943. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
