David P. Yocom

David P.(Pappy) Yocom, ENC, USN (ret), died at Tacoma, Washington, on 8 June 1993 at the age of 77. Chief Yocom is buried in Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Washington. He was born on 23 September 1915 in Independence Creek, Lewis County, Washington. Chief Yocom served on USS Tiru from August 1965 to January 1966. He also served on USS Sailfish, USS Spadefish, USS Gar, USS Bugara, USS Sarda, USS Sablefish, USS Wahoo, USS Sterlet, and USS Quillback. Chief Yocom was a veteran of World War II.
