Merle Richard Stacy

Shipmate Merle Richard "Buck" Stacy of 1667 Dallam Ave., Palm Bay, FL 32907 died on 29 October 2003. Buck was in the Marines from 1953 to 1955 prior to joining the Navy in 1958. Buck served aboard the USS HALFBEAK SS-352 from 1958 to 1963 and qualified in 1959. He then served in the Security Division at the Newport Brig from 1963-65. Buck reported to the USS TIRU SS-416 from 1965 to 1966, and the USS TANG SS-563 from 1966 to 1970. He retired from the Navy in 1975 and immediately started work at the Pearl Harbor Shipyard and retired in 1990. He is survived by his wife, Alice of Palm Bay, FL, daughter Sherry Stacy of Mililani, HI, son Joe Stacy of Westerly, RI, daughter Sharon Alger, of New London, CT, mother Dorothy Stacy of Zephyrhills, FL, 2 brothers: Robert Stacy of Carnation, WA, and John Stacy of Somersworth, NH and 4 grandchildren.
