William Michael Lennon

Chief Warrant Officer (3) William M. Lennon was born in Long Island City NY on 12 September 1920. Warrant Officer Lennon enlisted in the US Navy on 5 April 1939 and served on a number of ships including the USS Falcon (ASR-2), USS R-10 (SS-87), USS Grenadier (SS-210), USS Triton (SS-201), USS Besugo (SS-321), USS Parche SS-384), USS Carbonero (SS-337), USS Pomfret (SS-391) (with Ltjg Jimmy Carter), USS Tiru (SS-416) [April 1950- June 1950 as EMC], USS Epping Forest (LSD-4), USS Philipine Sea (CV-47) and USS Fulton (AS-11). He retired from the US Navy in July 1960. After retirement he worked on many nuclear powered submarines at Electric Boat, Groton. Warrant Office Lennon died in Florida on the 16th of December 2012 at the age of 92.
