Ellis E. Hostmyer

Ellis Eugene Hostmyer, a resident of Seminole, Oklahoma, died on 19 April 2002 at the age of 74. He reported to the USS Tiru SS416 on 12 February 1952, qualified in submarines on 12 May 1953, promoted to Engineman Second Class on 23 October 1953, and was transferred for discharge on 21 June 1954.  Petty Officer Hostmyer was awarded the Good Conduct and National Defense Medals. He was born on 8 June 1927 in Fairfax, Oklahoma. After his naval service Ellis worked for Continental Oil for 20 years and Pawnee Petroleum for 22 years.  He is buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.
