Dwight W. Groom

Dwight W. Groom died on 3 September 2005 in Victorville, California, and is survived by his wife Francis. His first submarine was the USS Tiru SS416, reporting aboard in February 1953 as a Seaman Apprentice from the USS Greenlet ASR10. He was promoted to Seaman on 15 May 1953. Dwight was sent for Temporary Duty to Radioman Class A school on 12 September 1953. He served aboard Tiru in the Communications division until his transfer to the USS Sea Fox SS402 in April 1955 as a RNSN.
