Thomas J. Gessford

Chief Petty Officer Thomas John Gessford, USN (ret), 82, of Hampton, Virginia died on 11 May 2007. He was born 9 November 1907 and his navy home of record was Ferndale, Michigan. He retired from the Navy after 30 years of service.

After completing Submarine School, Chief Gessford served aboard the USS Tiru (SS416) as Chief Torpedoman from 12 September 1957 until after July 1961 (exact departure date not known). He qualified on Tiru on16 May 1958.
