Luther Benjamin Garvin Jr.

Luther (Ben) Garvin Jr, a resident of Spartenburg, South Carolina, died on 28 July 2001 at the age of 74. He reported to the USS Tiru SS416, undergoing construction, as a Fireman in 1948 and was transferred on 20 May 1949.  Luther was a veteran of World War II.  He was born in Edgefield, South Carolina. He retired from the Spartanburg Housing Authority.
