Robert Elgin Daubenspeck, 68 of Greer, South Carolina, died on 7 October 2011. He was born in Butler, Pennsylvania, in 1942.

Robert was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War where he received the Purple Heart. He served on the USS Tiru (SS416) (1963-5) and the USS Cavalier (APA 37).

Robert was a active member of the USS Tiru Association. He is survived by his wife Helen and guide dog "Leisel".
