Kenneth Michael Crombie

Lieutenant Commander K. Michael Crombie, USN, a native of New York City, died on 12 December 1998 in St. Petersburg, Florida, at the age of 66. He reported aboard the USS Tiru SS416 on 28 January 1972 and was transferred on 5 January 1973 to serve as OIC of the reserve submarine in Tampa Florida. LCDR Crombie retired from the Navy in 1974 after 23 years of service, having served in the Korean War and as a Navigator and Weapons Officeer on diesel and nuclear submarines. He received a degree in Engineering from Purdue University.
