Calvin Ayers Catlin

Electronic Technician First Class Calvin A. Catlin , USN (ret), a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, died on 6 July 2006 at the age of 79. He reported to the USS Tiru SS416, undergoing construction, as a QM3 in 1948 and was transferred to ComSubAD on 15 January 1949.  Petty Officer Catlin was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was born on 17 August 1926 in Hollywood, California. Petty Officer Catlin enlisted in the Navy in August 1943 and retired in December 1964.  He also served on the USS Icefish SS367 in 1946.
