William H. Case

Senior Chief Yeoman William H. Case, USN (ret), a resident of Jacksonville, Florida, died on 5 April 2000 at the age of 74. He reported to the USS Tiru SS416, undergoing construction, as a YN2 in 1948 and was transferred to shore duty in Washington, DC as a YN1 on 21 April 1949. Senior Chief Case was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was born on 18 July 1925 in Canton, North Carolina. Senior Chief Case enlisted in the Navy in December 1943 and retired in March 1966.  He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville.
