Chief Warrant Officer George Valentine Brown Sr, USN (ret), of El
Cajon, California
died on 29 June 1999.
He was born on 3 December 1906 in Brooklyn, New York. Warrant Office Brown
served the US Navy from April 1924 until his retirement in November 1953.
Chief Warrant Officer Brown served aboard the USS Tiru (SS416) as Chief
Electrician Mate from 13 April 1952 to 28 April 1952. He also served on many submarines including
the USS O-9 (SS70), USS O-8 (SS69), USS S-48 (SS159), USS S-15 (SS120), USS R-10
(SS-87), USS R-14 (SS91) having qualified on the USS O-10 (SS71) in June 1928
while an EM2.
He was a veteran of World War II.
