Melvin Charles Berg

Chief Torpedoman Melvin C. Berg died on 3 April 2000 in Connecticut, and is buried at the Maplewood Cemetery, Norwich. He served as a Torpedoman First Class on USS Tiru SS416 from January 1955 through June 1956. Chief Berg enlisted in the US Navy in October 1941 and retired in June 1966. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Chief Berg was born in Lake Forest, Illinois, on 25 October 1924.
