James V. Banse

Chief Radioman James V. Banse , USN (ret), died on 28 October 2001 in Cocoa, Florida (formerly of Vento, Iowa), at the age of 73. He was buried at the Arlington National Cemetery. Chief Banse enlisted in the Navy in July 1946 and retired in July 1968. He served as a Radioman First Class on TIRU from October 1952 through November 1953, qualifying in submarines on 31 July 1953. He completed one Korean War Patrol while on TIRU. Chief Banse was born in Garrison, Iowa on 28 May 1928.
