Lieutenant Commander W. V. Surman, Jr.

Captain Surman graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in June 1951. He received a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in December 1960 from the U.S. Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. Captain Surman assumed command of Tiru on 9 February 1963 and left Tiru on 10 February 1965.
